The Topographic Survey of the site carried out shows that the site slopes upward from the front boundary to the rear boundaries with an approximate height difference of 5m from the highest to the lowest point. The site’s characteristics in terms of the topography has been utilized in the design, rather than filling or cutting the entire site, the structure has been designed to fit on the slope and specifically helping to create harmony with the site . The surrounding landscaped areas are to be contoured to meet with the building level.

The Abel Residence is a private residence for a family of three, located at the base of Apo Hills with plenty of Vegetation surrounded by lush green fields. The focus of the project was to respond to the context of the site and its climatic aspects while keeping in mind the clients requirement of a simple home in a serene environment. Hence, the insertion of a building in this context needed to ensure two things – that the perennial wind-flow in the site remains unobstructed and the spaces within the house connect to the natural elements around it.
