The AMC as it is popularly called is a five storey multi-purpose community and event centre located in the heart of Durumi District, in the Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria. The building provides 2 levels of basement parking, Offices Spaces and collaborative meeting spaces for around 900 staff. Additionally the building provides a 6,000 capacity Event Hall with 2 levels of gallery.
The Buiding Supervised Directly by Arc Abudu is relatively simple. The building is predominantly square shaped with a curve office tower the spatial arrangement is such that they are highly flexible and efficient in terms of circulation and service space requirements. Natural daylight is afforded to the great majority of spaces, either via the external façade or by way of the central atrium space.
The range of space types contained illustrates a more complex character with regards to the detailed planning of the building itself. The entrance hall houses exhibition areas and collaborative meeting lounges, while the office tower at the rear rise 5 storey high to give a panoramic view of the city of Abuja. The 6000 capacity auditorium is the social element that form the spiritual heart of the development.
